Messages

Optional, per project. A place to talk to a client that is attached to the work, rather than scattered across inboxes.

Why not email

Email works fine until someone new joins, or you need to find what was agreed four months ago, or the person who had the thread is on holiday. A thread that lives on the project has none of those problems, and the client does not need to be taught anything to use it.

Threads

A thread is a conversation about one thing — a round of feedback, a question about scope, an approval. Keeping them separate is what makes them findable later.

Who sees what

  • A thread with a client is visible to them, which is the point of it.
  • An internal thread is not, so your team can discuss the same subject in the same place without a second tool.

Check before you post. This is a client-facing surface: unless a thread is marked internal, assume the client is reading it. See internal vs client-visible.

Email in, too

A project can have its own inbound address, so a client who replies by email lands in the thread rather than in someone's personal inbox.
